Colonized planets in same system don't display correctly

I just noticed this, perhaps this behavior is by design but if so it's counter-intuitive.

Start of game, Sol system is the only colonized system.
Two class 20 planets in Sol system with no nearby decent
planets so the first colony ship is used to colonize the second planet in Sol system.

When setting production on the first planet I used the left / right "arrows" on the production screen to, I thought, move to the "next planet". It didn't work.

Those left / right "arrows" seem to be "next system" navigation controls.

I think it should scroll you to the next colonized planet. It would make things simpler.

I have noticed that those arrows seem to be unreliable : sometimes, some planets are ignored when one tries to view all the colonies' production-screens by using the arrows. I think Admiral CariElf is aware of this problem.

Magus,

Have you ever played with 200+ planets? This can be over 75 star systems. With that many planets I find it easier to have something that will go from system to system for some of the things I need to do. One example - looking for a system with enough population to make it worth while to build a transport.

Cheers,
Jack

The round button in between the two arrow buttons toggles them between "planet" and "system."

DaveO,
I didn't know that, obviously ;) . It never occured to me to try whacking on the round button between the arrows. If that's the case that's a very elegant and straightforward solution to an potentially difficult interface design problem.

The is a classic example of something that would have been in the docs if such docs existed. I wonder how many other little touches like this are present that most people haven't yet discovered.
Thanks
Magus

'The round button in between the two arrow buttons toggles them between "planet" and "system."'

But not in the manner than he's suggesting/requesting. From what I can tell, that just changes the system view/planet list on the side window, not the way the arrows select the next planet.

But once you're in planet list mode and you hit the left/right arrows, it does move you to the next colonized planet. Or it's supposed to. :P

It doesn't seem to make a difference which mnode it's in, but I don't often find the need to try using either, so....
