Uninstalling DesktopX screwed up desktop

Please help!

I downloaded DesktopX, and was not particularly entralled by it. I uninstalled it.

However, since I uninstalled it, now I have the problem that the computer doesn't seem to want to acknowledge that the start bar is there. Whenever I maximize a window, it doesn't take up the whole screen but fit tightly to the top of the start bar, it takes over the whole screen and completely covers the start bar.

I use AIM, and when the little alerts would come up before sitting on top of the taskbar and clock, now they come up from the bottom right part of the screen.

It's not a big thing, but it annoys the CRAP out of me. How can I fix this?

right click your taskbar - properties - check 'keep on top'
