Economic/Trade screen

I still don't get the way the economic screen works.
If you receive 100 in taxes and your government spending rate is 70%, there should be 70 assigned to expenditure and 30 in savings. If you change the expenditure rate to 72%, 72 and 28, yet that just isn't the case.
Also the statistics on economic information don't add up between the two screens, Economic shows one set of information and the Stats page shows yet another set which bears no relation to the Economic page.
I'm not really sure I understand the trade screen either. When a new route is created you're told say 10 credits on average per month. The trade screen then shows, 6/70 and 200 turns, yet another route will show 6/70 and 100 turns perhaps. Which one is the least revenue generating??? Do they really produce the same revenue just one completes two trips to the other doing one trip?
I also was getting messages saying Route 0 between X and Y is too dangerous and no longer economical and is being dropped. Yet going to the economic screen shows there is still a route in place and its not between X and Y. Does the system automatically create a new route to replace the one that was lost? If so thats cool but shouldn't the message say so?
