Mythic Entertainment, the developer behind the popular Dark Age of Camelot MMORPG, has decided to embrace digital distribution along with normal retail means. Mythic has, for the first time in the game's history, said that all existing and future expansion packs will be released through both channels, with the Catacombs expansion already avaliable for purchase. Players can also pre-order the upcoming Darkness Rising expansion, due out this month, or grab a bundle pack for both expansions which will run $29.99, a savings of $10 over the normal prices.
"For four years we have continually improved Dark Age of Camelot with both free and paid content to ensure that the game remains one of the industry leaders. We are excited to offer this new service to our subscribers providing them with almost immediate access to the latest major expansions for the ever-expanding world of Dark Age of Camelot," says Mark Jacobs, President and CEO of Mythic Entertainment. "As always, we will continue to support our community with a mix of free and paid updates available both online and at retail."
