NCsoft has announced a new pricing scheme for players looking to play as villains and heroes. Players of City of Villains and City of Heroes will now be able play both games, for the subscription price of one. City of Villains is the standalone sequel to last year's City of Heroes and is expected to be released October 31st with a subscription fee of $14.95.
Players who already own City of Heroes will therefore only have to purchase City of Villains to be able to play both of Cryptic Studios' games. Players with enough time on their hands to play two MMOs will also receive four extra character slots per server and access to crossover areas for the games, such as player-versus-player arenas that will be introduced with City of Villains.
"This single subscription rate for subscribers to City of Villains and City of Heroes represents a great value for our customers and demonstrates our efforts to put our players first," said Robert Garriott, CEO of NCsoft North America. "We expect City of Villains to have a major impact on the PC games business, and this pricing structure should help continue to bring in new customers to the online, multiplayer game market."
