Windows draw below objectdock

I have object dock, and i use it instead of the start bar. But unlike the mac, when i maximize a window, it goes all the way to the bottom of the screen, instead of stopping at the top of the dock. Now, for most apps this is cool, but for WMP, the progress bar runs right through the middle of the object dock.

I was wondering if anyone know how to retain the height of the startbar, for when windows are drawn, or if there is an option within object dock to adjust this.

This is actually a known issue that can be somewhat alleviated by WindowFX (if you own). There is currently no option in Object Dock to restrict the window boundaries, but is a possible future implementation.

Edit: It looks like there's another method (If you're using Windowblinds) posted by Koasati on the stardock newsgroups:

"Open your skin in SkS.
In the Left Tree, click Window Borders...
In the Right Tree, look for "Screen Edge Clip" ( you'll find 4 setting Top, Bottom, Left, and Right)

To keep the bottom edge 32 pixels from the screen edge, set the value to '-32'.
Save and apply." (Taken from news.stardock.com: stardock.objectdock)

hawkeye works awsome!

script is

for a 2 high startbar margin:
margin, 0, bottom, 64

for a 1 high (standard) startbar margin:
margin, 0, bottom, 32

Could someone please tell me why I can not choose GDI+Engine and Custom engine in ObjectDock plus. The pull down menu is just not there. If I install a regular free version I can do it.

Another option on the start bar: set it to the height you want space for, set it to always be on top, use ObjectDock to hide it.

Hmmm. That looked interesting, simple & elegant...

Doesn't work here... As soon as the taskbar is hidden the icons move back into the space where it 'was'. XP, SP2 all hotfixes.

xp sp2 all hot fixes except maybe 2 according to trendmicro
i use the free od
icons hidden unless i use iconx - i'll put them back and try it shortly
i either keep at top on auto hide or on the bottom behind the task bar with the maximise set high enough that when i mouse down over the task bar i have full access to od right above it.

'show icons' - moved taskbar to top - extended down to double size - set on top - used od to hide bar - icons did not move
same with bar on bottom - no movement of icons
maximized window stops where hidden bar is.
od free rocks!

Hmmm. I have 'Show Icons' checked but I'm hiding the desktop icons with TweakUI - wonder if that's affecting it? No IconX loaded tho'...
