messages - suggestions

The current messaging system needs some filtering options as it becomes very tedious mid to late game. When a new turn begins a new message window / GSN pops up listing all events. This is good.
Any colonisation events now pop up and ask you to select the planet - good
Any research events pop up and ask you to select the next research project - good
Any social project or military project events pop up the planet window - good if empty queue, bad if not.

What happens in later stages of the game is you have lots of planets finish their current item and have to click through 10-20 planets which are all on governor.

A filter button to only display the planet screen for planets with an empty queue after a project completion would be very useful.

A second suggestion would be buttons on the lower right window to clear the window / clear all social projects / clear all military projects would also be nice.

I'd agree with some sort of a filter on the project completion screens if I could set what conditions I want. That is, I want it to pop up when 1). the governer queue is empty 2). The morale drops below some value (I haven't decided what value just yet, and I may wish to adjust it during a game), 3). A planet with a real high social production rate (an adjustable level during a game) finished a project (so I could switch it to some special project not in its current Governer list). Since this seems rather impractical I would rather have all of the completions show up.

Jack,
you could select your first option (that's what I'd like only to be displayed).

Your second option would be nice but should be easy to do from the planet list, once you can sort by moral.

Your third option should also be easy to do from the planet list, once you sort by production ability.

Remember that the full list on GSN would still appear each turn, just not force you to go through every planet screen.

Paul,

So true. It is so easy to forget some of the "in the future" stuff, so there is a tendency to request things that would be covered by something else not yet in the code (I am only one of the guilty).
