Activation?

When I went to install WB5, a program "activate.exe" wanted to access the Internet. (I'm paranoid, and only select programs can even access port 53.)

What's with the activation?

Ah. I figured as much.

My point, and forgive me if I've missed this in an FAQ or if I didn't make myself clear is that...when did Activation become a requirement, and what happens if I don't "activate"?

Will WB5 not work? Will I not be able to load it or load extra skins?

I'm very particular about what accesses the Internet on this machine. I also have a machine that doesn't access the 'net at all. What if I want to install WB5 on a machine that doesn't have 'net access?

Just curious...

Without the activation WB 5 beta will be unable to run.

I believe for machines without internet access, there is a procedure where you have to e-mail a file to stardock support and they e-mail back an activation file.

Hmm. Thanks!

When the full version of WB5 comes out, I'll check it out further.
The info is appreciated!
