Copying Folder/Applying Column Settings to sub folders

Hi,

OS is XP Pro

I have a folder which contains music, and I've chosen to view the folder type as "Music", which means that I can access various info columns (artist, album, title, track) etc. under the detail view.

However, these settings seem to be folder specific, is there any way to change the columns layout in 1 folder, and have them apply to all sub folders? Or better yet, be able to copy the settings across folders?

In the "music" folder, select "view".

Then click "customize this folder".

There is a checkbox that says "apply this template to all subfolders".

Just make sure you have the settings the way you want, and that should work.

That only seems to work occasionally, and even then it applies the default settings of:

NAME SIZE DATE MODIFIED ARTIST ALBUM TRACK# etc etc

I need it to apply the customized columns to only those sub folders
