A few minor bugs

During a game I had my survey ship disappear. I could still move it and it still picked up anomolies but it just was not displayed on the screen.

At one point in the game everytime a ship was build large amounts of money where removed from my bank. This caused me to go very quickly negative. Even though I had a large cash flow (~400 a turn) a ship seemed to build just when I had got to about -350 and I would be at -800 again. I was in the middle of a war so it was very difficult to be more precise. I will try to record better details if it happends again.

Once I had the situation under control and had stopped all ship production the problem seemed to correct itself.

Is this on Beta 2?

The ship disappearing problem sounds very like the eyes of the universe problem in beta 1z. I believe this has been fixed though.

Never heard of the second problem.

The "eyes of the universe problem" is still present in Beta 2, at least it was in the version released on Friday.

Hitting Ctrl-R will force a refresh of the FOW, which should help you determine if it's a FOW bug. If it's not, it may be something wrong with the gfx file.

If you traded money to the AI at all, there was a bug where the money would be taken out twice because it defaulted to 1 month, which I was using as a 1 time deal. The person who coded tribute into the trading screen, however, interpreted it differently.

'Never heard of the second problem.'

Something else that can cause that is if they're right on the balance point between having a positive or negative income. Once they drop below -500 bc, all forms of spending other than tributes and loan payments stop, so they would suddenly have a lagre positive income. As soon as they get back above that point, other forms of spending resume, resulting in the original deficit spending to reassert itself.

I accidentally put myself in that posistion the first game I played by buying a survey ship from my treasury on turn 3.

Did you check to see if you could get it back by hitting Ctrl-R, though? Although, reloading the saved game would also refresh the FOW.

Reloading the game fixed the problem. I was unaware of the Ctrl-R option.

Well, that's good to know. :) Disappearing ships is never a good thing. I'm about to test some code that will hopefully banish the last of the FOW problems.
