Gamestop Merger Shows Another Surprise

Gamecloud has confirmed rumors that Electronic Boutique and its associated branches, EBGames and EBX, will stop accepting used PC games as of today. The change in policy can certainly be linked to the company's merger with Gamespot, a game retailer who's stores, more often than not, didn't even carry NEW PC games, let alone accept used ones.

If they stop selling PC games altogether I will flip out and not purchase ANYTHING from them anymore.

It's getting to the point where if you want to buy a PC game, you have to go online or to Best Buy (which doesn't tend to have the best prices on them).

Methinks it's time for Microsoft to step-up like they said they would and put some muscle behind the PC platform here. Otherwise they're going to lose an entire 1/3rd of the market overnight.

I was told the same thing by the local EB just two days ago when I went to grab a copy of F.E.A.R and Quake 4.

GameStop already has a generous PC section of 5 titles at best. This merger is going to kill the PC sections in EB too I bet.

Lets hear it for competition! Who needs multiple vendors?
