A few more 2b bugs

I've noticed that after loading a saved game, the next move or two may take a *very* long time. The first time this happened I thought it had crashed.

Also, I've been wary of the "Minor Races" tab so I was careful to wait until I started a new game in Beta 2B to try it again and it immediately crashed back to Windows. So that's still an issue if no one has already reported it.

Here's my contribution to the 2B bug list;

When using the purchase screen, you can exit out of the planet screen without hitting accept or cancel. When I went to another planet, the window was still open even though the ship being built would not have ordinarily displayed the button (the ship would be finished next month). The screen displayed negative values for the first option, and what I assume are maximum values for all the other options. Took the negative, and I made some cash. Maybe when exiting the planet window, the game should make sure the purchase menu is closed?

I liked the new anomaly options. But on loading a saved game, it seemed like all the new anomalies turned into +10 soldiering anomalies. I was able to get a whole bunch, and in the latest battle on a planet, the odds were 4998 to 46, me. It seems like it's an issue with the new anomalies being saved. I never seem to be able to get any +defence anomalies after the first load, so it might be happening with that anomaly too. Only the new ones and +defence seem to be affected, as far as I can tell.

I got to a point in the game I'm playing, where the game would freeze while doing the end-turn routine. I thought it was just taking a while at first, so I went and bought groceries, and shopped at a bookstore. Came back, and it was still there. I tried quiting/reloading a few times, but it always got stuck at the same point. It appears to have been a certain Drengin ship, since the turn ran fine when I destroyed it. I've got a savegame from before that ship was destroyed if you want it.

I'll second the observation on the anomalies. The nice distribution of the new types of anomalies goes out the window the first time you restore from a save.

After the restore all the anomalies revert to the types available before Beta 2B.

The minor races tab causes a crash to desktop if all the minor races have been conquered.

It appears to have something to do with the anomaly definitions that appear in the same file. None of the base anomalies change, and the ones that do change change to the first anomaly in the file they are defined in.

Is there one set of code to read the definitions file for starting a game and another one for restoring a saved game? I have two files for each anomaly, one with the file type ANOMOLY (the old ones) and one with file type ANOMALY (the new ones). As far as I can tell the content of the files are identical, including the misspelling of the description start operator "ANOMOLY" and the description end operator "ENDANOMOLY", so I don't see how there being two sets of anomaly files can cause this problem. However, two separate routines that were not identical could.

Delete the .ANOMOLY files. GalCiv ignores them, so they're just useless.

I will check out the anomalies issue.

Did you have an autosaved game in your SaveGames folder when you got that error?

The "attempt to play unregistered" file is probably from one of the minor races trying to play a custom music file that doesn't exist.
