DesktopX - DirectX Problem

I have the latest DesktopX (v3.10.042) installed on my PC.
After installing the game FEAR I get a Buffer overrun error whenever I try to load an object or a desktop (Widgets still work).
The game FEAR also installs a special? version of DirectX9c called August edition, so I am guessing that the problems come from some sort of incompatibility with that directx version.
DesktopX had no troubles with the 'normal' DirectX9c installation.
So far I tried deinstalling FEAR, reinstalling DesktopX and repairing my Windows installation (which unfortunetly now keeps me from reverting my system to a previous point).
Nothing worked, so if anyone knows a solution to this problem I would be happy to know it.

August 2005 or 2004? The 9.0c build was August 2004, but that's been "the build" for download apart from security updates.

Can you put the DirectX installer somewhere I can get at it and email [email protected] a link? Though maybe Civ4 will have it when I pick that up today/tomorrow.

Its August 2005. It has some archives that I cant find in other dx versions, namely:
Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cab
Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cab
Aug2005_MDX_x86.cab
dxdllreg_x86.cab
As far as putting it somewhere, the setup has about 34mb, so uploading it is a bit of a problem .
I could of course send it directly to your email, if thats ok.

I've found a copy with the latest SDK and we'll check into it to see if we can reproduce things. No need to upload. What video card and drivers are you using?
