SCI Entertainment has released more details about the takeover bids it has received, saying one suitor hasn't been in contact since June, effectively that deal is toast, and the other bid was made just last week. The purchase of Eidos in May made SCI Entertainment the largest UK based publisher but also a prime target for takeover due to its attractive properties.
"Although the party making the first approach has not notified the Board whether it intends to progress its interest, no specific discussions have been held since June," a statement by the company explained. "The second approach was received last week and discussions are ongoing."
The Daily Mail broke the news yesterday, but was informed of three suitors, which they believed to be Electronic Arts, Midway and Apax Partners. The statement rebuked that figuring, stating that there are in fact only two suitors, but did not name them.
