Ummm I have a file named Anomaly_Data2.pcx in my gfx-dir, but no anomally_data2.pcx in a gx-dir

Well, I don't have those files yet, and I was unable to find the reference in code (someone obviously didn't check in all their files), so I can't fix it yet. But it is obviously a typo. You might want to try re-naming the file so that it doesn't have capitals; Pear is case sensitive most of the time, and so that should take care of some of the errors. I thought that we had stamped out the last of the problems with the verdana font, but I'll look into it.

Also, do you have the file resnews_00.bik in your Gfx directory?

Yup, I have the resnews_00.bik

And just to point out from the errors above:
There is both
Gx\\anomally_data2.pcx
Gfx\\anomally_data2.pcx
among the errors, both spelled wrong...

Yep. They're typos in the file where the new anomalies are defined.
