Terrorstar...?

Well, I was finally actually able to research Terrorstar technology, and I'm forced to ask...what's it for? It doesn't let you add anything new to your starbases, it doesn't let you build any new ships...in short, now I have this knowledge of how to destroy a star system, but I can't use it?

Sure, that would be heartless, cruel, and immensely evil, but isn't that the fun sometimes? ;) Is there something in the works for a future release of GalCiv to actually put Terrorstar technology to work?

Eventually what will happen is that terror star technology will give you a module that will let you turn one of your star bases into a fully armed and operational battle station...whohaha.

Mark,

A lot of the ships have yet to be completed by the art department and be added to the game. The OS/2 version had a ship called a terror star that cost a fortume and was a one use weapon, unlike what we are seeing as the game shapes up now.

Other ships that have not shown up yet are the super fast, super powerful, and super cheap Excalibars that in the OS/2 version had a base speed of 26 (?). Also not yet here are the ships that use the cloaking technology, the "phasing" ships, that looked rather ghost like when you could see them (you could only see your own and those that had just attacked someone). And many others.

Wow...I'm already hooked on the game as it is. These new ships (and the new anomalies and stuff in 2b) really make it hard to do any actual work while I'm in the office. heh Keep up the GREAT work, Stardock!
