Bad vibes in the Metaverse! (Can't we call a truce or something?)

I've been avoiding the forums and playing GalCiv lately because of all of the negative talk of "cheese" strategies or they way Stardock has handled the whole situation. This has gotten out of hand and there's no point to going on and on about it.

People have different ways to play that some may consider "cheese" while others consider them just fine. I think invading every AI planet in one turn before they have a chance to react or trading a flipped planet and waiting for it to flip back are "cheese" strategies, but there's no one saying that people who do these are bad players who try to find ways to cheat the AI. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and people have voiced them on both sides so lets move on.

If you get an Anomalous score, then try to get it fixed with Stardock. If the code causing it is not going to be changed, then if you're worried about Anomalous scores hurting your Metaverse ranking, try to avoid causing the Anomalous score that way. There's no reason to argue about right and wrong ways to play.

Couldn't agree with your seniment more STBlasius . . . I've even been writting stories to avoid the swail of Moodiness around these parts (Things are desperate!),

The Jedi figure in them quite prominently, have a read if you need a laugh! But be warned I'm no Britney Shakin the Spear! See . . .

my aversion to all this is caused by the medium itself - you simply can't have this kind of discussion (which needs the subtleties of real human interaction eg body language, inflection, nuances, twinkles, beer etc)with any kind of 'real understanding'. The spoken word in text form, black and white as it is, can be powerfully misinterpreted. (witness the use of the word 'integrity' for example) Arguing in chat rooms/forums/email is kinda like doing brain surgery with a shovel. Best avoided unless you're in the antarctic.

for an interesting read.. read my msg about "From the Metaverse Archives" its part 2 to the history of the metaverse.. (how come there are so many different localized empires in the metaverse and how do they fit in)
