Star Wars Galaxies Axed in Japan

Word has it that Star Wars Galaxies has been discontinued in Japan. EA Japan has announced that they will be discontinuing support for the MMORPG, but Japanese gamers who wish to continue playing can have their accounts transferred to the European or American servers which remain unaffected and await the latest expansion, Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan.

EA Japan didn't release a specific reason for the discontinuation but it is likely due from backfire over the scrapped update by Sony Online Entertainment, the game's developer, that was canceled to avoid a player boycott.
