Simpsons Returning to Digital Life

Yahoo News reports that the world's largest third party publisher, Electronic Arts, has signed an exclusive, long-term deal for the rights to Fox's The Simpsons. EA stated that the first games to stem from the deal will be available on next-gen machines, and after the 4 million copies sold of 2003's Simpsons Hit and Run, expectations are no doubt high.

EA has been a part of The Simpsons titles before, but never directly held a deal with Fox, let alone an exclusive. EA published Simpsons Road Rage in 2001 and followed that up with Simpsons Skateboarding in 2002. No details have been released about expected platforms, release dates or financial dealings.

It seems to be a growing trend with EA that the easiest way for them to maintain their dominance in the market is to simply sign exclusives with everyone...

Well I think its better than them just buying up all the development firms for their properties. DAMN THEM FOR CLOSING WESTWOOD!

sigh I miss Westwood    What development team made the latest simpsons game? I can't remember the exact name of the game though, but it was a pretty good simpsons game.

And Simpsons Hit & Run was the last Simpsons game and was by Radical Entertainment I believe.
