Beta 4 Installing Multimedia

I am unable to install the Multimedia portion of Beta 4. Clicking on Install in Stardock Central will give the error log at the end of this post.

I had the a similar problem updating from the earlier beta until I uninstalled it and installed Beta 4 from scratch.

Same problem here. Even an uninstall / reinstall didn't help.

Are you downloading from the California server or the Chicago server on SDC? The internet connection went down at Stardock while they were updating the Chicago server last night I believe, and it may not have been fixed yet. The Califormia server should have the working download though.

I had no problem connecting via SDC and the download and reinstallation of GC2 Beta 4 proceeds flawlessly. I've installed the multimedia successfully on two other computers but on this computer the multimedia fails to install with the above error. Chicago server, California server, doesn't matter. Same result.

Switched to the California server and it seems to be working. At least it is proceeding with the download. So I assume it works.

I spoke too soon. I get the same error from the California server after the download is complete when it tries to install the multimedia files.

It's clobbering me too, I'm guessing its the same 0kb file issue that b4 had when it first went up as it looks identical.

Is anyone having this problem with the Stardock Central reporting itself as Build 95 in Help / About? Or is it only from that Build 97 beta that went up for a brief time on Wednesday night?

I have 97 and the same problem

This is happening with build 97.

same problem here with installation and Multimedia, someone recommended to uninstal v3 and download Beta 4, doing that right now, let you know what happens.

Yea, build 97 of SDC is still kidn of iffy.  We're about to put up a new build of SDC that will hopefully fix things.

If you have Build 97 and this is happening, close Stardock Central and install http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe on top of it. Or, we'll have a new build 98 or 99 SDC beta available in an hour or two.

If it is happening with Build 95 or a build later than 97, please indicate that if it's past 4pm EST this Friday.

storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe is the link. Add a http:// to the front of it.

That worked for me.

It did ask to install a newer version of SDC following the reinstall but I hit no. I'm guessing that would have reinstalled the dodgy 97 build or something.
