Elder Scrolls IV Delay Information

Early 2006, Site Updates to Begin

Bethesda Softworks has announced that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been delayed. The short explanation as given by Pete Hines is that "the game is coming out in early 2006 because it isn't done yet." He continued that "we continue to optimize, test, balance, etc. We've already gone way beyond what we did in any game previously in playtesting and balancing this game."

Hines also stated that the company has prepared a barrage of site updates that will keep the community up to date with the game. The weekly updates will contain Codex updates, new concept art, screens, and the like until the game is ready, which Hines commented that "we will not put out a more specific date until we are certain we will be ready then."
