Considering making a Pre-sell edition?

Civ4 did it maybe you guys should do the same!

i got the idea from Civ4-that you manufacture a pre-sell edition box and stuff simmilar to Civ4 it can gain lots of buyers for not much more money (besides pre-sell edition games once the relase date is up its no longer pre-order so, they are no longer manufactured and since there are limited they have a high-value and stuff) what does everyone else think? this can make a very good marketing tool!

We are already doing this.  See ads in PC Gamer, CGW, and CGM.  We just haven't updated the web page yet.  But yea, those who pre-order the game will get some extra goodies (extra ship components, a GalCiv theme, and fancier box and a fold out tech-tree amongst a few other tidbits.

Do the extra components and theme apply to those with the TG.net rollover? And if not, is there anyway we could elect to spend a few bucks to get a boxed copy shipped to us that would get these goodies short of buying a second copy of the game?

I'd love to get it for free, but that is probably unrealistic. One can always hope though
