Well, I have similar problem. I play as the Technologist and in several games I succeeded to win first election but the second proved to be doomed for me I would loose and in my party field would say ‘Industrialists’. In one or two occasions I would lose elections to “Technologists” and then would get funny message that my penalty is +20 research and + 1 sensors (familiar from previous builds, only difference that with previous builds I could not win elections at all). Also, after several lost elections the message about penalty would get even more weird, my penalty would sometimes cover more than two categories (i.e. –20 research, -1 sensors, - spy ability and – social production, I forgot the numbers). And the bar indicating how many seats each party has in Senate would disappear and next to the (empty) bar are numbers starting with 5 (in tens or hundreds of thousands).
Another bug that plagues me is the problem that I have if I try to pull down the window with GalCiv after I played for a while. Actually, I can pull it down without the problem but when I wont to maximize it again then I get the black screen, music is going and the only way to stop the game is to end the program using task manager.
Also, I saved one game and everything looked normal. I didn’t quit and instead I just pulled down the window and when I wanted to go back I got that familiar black screen plus I couldn’t open neither the named saved game nor both autosaves.
It seems that game crashes during autosaves. I can’t say this for sure but several times after crashes I wasn’t able to open autosaved game.
One of the crashes happened while I was in Combat Window and I think it happened when my and my enemy’s (Arceans) ship were to explode simultaneously.
Research units and factories still get stuck during the upgrade with zero weeks left. And then you can’t buy them or remove them. This happens in every game on at least two planets. The only way I was able to deal with that is to start building new tile improvement by pushing it ahead of the stacked improvements. But there is another funy twist. In several occasions (more than two, for sure) I noticed that I would push the wanted improvement up the queue until it is ahead of the stacked one but next turn the stacked one would be again ahead thus blocking the one that I wanted. Only after second push the wanted improvement would stay on the top of the queue.
And, I believe that I didn’t mention that bug with flagship not upgrading its weaponry and defense more than twice so…
At the end. Is there a chance that this reporting can be bit more organized? I tried to find ‘Bug reports go here’ thread but after some time I gave up.
