Downloading GC Multimedia

I seem to be unable to download the GalCiv multimedia files. I get error messages such as '12019 Miscellaneous Error' and 'SDS0004 Failed to retrieve
file xxx.xxx' at regular intervals. After much restarting, I managed to get as far as the file Weapons.md_, but that file is so big that I can't get
through it without an error, meaning the DGM restarts the download of the file. Can I get around this? For example, is there not any way I can do the download with an auto-resume (like GetRight).

I realise that others have had similar problems, but none of the answers suggested in the other posts works for me.

AFAIK, the DGM can't resume a single file, just the whole download from the start of the first missing file, and there currently is not any other way to download the file.

'SDS0004' is a lost connection. If you're having problems downloading large files from other locations, and your on a dial-up ISP with multiple numbers in your area, you may want to try using a different number to dial in, in case it's the ISP's router/gateway/etc.

I don't know what '12019' is, but if I had to guess, it's probably a similar failure.

I still have uncompression problems: error 13 on invasion.mp3. Can't you put a self-extracting zip file on the download screen?

Further to the above (and to my posts on the newsgroup) I have been trying to download the multimedia files on a completely different PC, with a completely different connection. This time the DGM is downloading the files in a different order, but it still keeps stopping at the same file (this time Planets.bi_).

Could we please have 'normal' access to the files, so that they can be downloaded with GetRight, or similar.

John, have you sent me a debug.err file yet?

If not please do so. Run "c:\program files\drengin.net\loader.ex" /d

The /d parameter turns on additional debugging. Send me the debug.err file located in the drengin.net directory.
