Can anyone explain what a gui widget is. My guess is guided user interface. But what is it and how do you use it. Can you even use it in desktop x? Thanks

from the page above: Here's where the guiwigets come in handy. Widgets are just GUI pieces (scrollbars, progress bars, frames, title bar buttons, push buttons, menus, etc.) published by skin authors so that you can easily insert them into your skin.

What they are, are things that are shortcuts or helpful little pieces that hover over your desktop. For me, they are things that you most likely dont really need. All they are, are just GUI pieces that can, in some situations make things easier for you. For example...I (after reading someones blog on here), installed Konfabulator. I havent been able to find anything of actual value from any of the widgets they have. For example, they have a temp gauge. Well, I already have a temp gauge on my task bar that tells me the accurate temp, as well as opening up to give me a complete weather forecast and alerts. They have other stuff too, but from what I can tell, they arent that accurate or are rather pointless.
