I voted for diplomacy in the new poll... but basically I mean the AI being able to use diplomacy effectively, so, I guess I want AI too...

here's a funny thing AI did:

First it offered me "finest ships to help me in war", then, right after that message, it declared war on me because "they need to honor their agreement"
