are you referring to DesktopX or Windowblinds? The comment about toolbar/startbar not changing seems more to be Windowblinds.

The creation of a new bar seems to be DesktopX.

Which version of which program?

taskbar? if it's not on autohide (mouse down should pop it up if it is)then it's one of several programs that can 'hide' the taskbar. 1st check desktopX, load one and then switch to builder, then configure, and in 'desktop' there is the option to hide the taskbar. ObjectDock & ObjectBar also have options to hide it.
