What makes you so sure it will be tomorrow? Sometimes they have problems that delays it.

But yes, I am finding waiting for it hard. I have every upgrade. :D

What time tomorrow? I don't suppose it would be like 12:01am?

It would make my day if it was! I am leaving this weekend and would love to get a chance to try it out tonight!

If not, I guess I can wait. (:(

The size of the download is going to be huge. I'm quite ocncerned about the size actually.

There's a ton of new music and graphics and sound effects in this build.

Heck, the new weapons module is 27 megs (uncompressed).

I would not expect anything tonight. A Friday release date is more likely to be Friday afternoon/evening than early Friday morning from past experience. They are probably doing a final build tonight and will be working out the packing tommorow morning. (This is not an official statement just something I would expect them to be doing being a developer myself)

Any chance of splitting it up into more than three files, so that those of us on dial-up don't run into too many problems. It's been a while since I've been able to keep a line open for 12 hours, and a fresh install of GalCiv base is already up to 7 hours, or so, download here.

It's a big number of files that are downloaded and decompressed..but on the other hand, doesnt the new resume feature in DGM work?

It'll be this afternoon. Have to tie in all the latest changes and last minute tweaks.

StarDock is in Michigan, which is on EDT. That is GMT - 5 hours.

And eagerness to play won't budge the time zones one second (darn it). ;)

It does, with conditions. Rebooting messes it up, even if the files are still there, and Drengin.net is still going to give up eventually if it can't reconnect.

I can't keep a connection open long enough because I'm not here long enough to reconnect. I can't afford to sit at my computer for 36 hours trying to download Gal Civ.

actually rebooting didn't mess me up at all. I had a crash while downlowding, rebootimg reconnected to dsl and launched dgm it picked it rigt up where i left off
good luck
