Bunch more bugs

And observations

I have another list for you guys. Let me just say that I'm loving GalCiv 2. If I appear to be overly critical, it's only because I was one of the bigger supporters and beta testers of MOO3 and we all know what happened there. I loved GalCiv and I know I'll love GalCiv 2. Just gotta help work out the bugs!

Without further ado, I give you my list o' bugs--

1. This is related: the borders and ownership for the main player (at least when I'm humans) don't show up on either the main map (for borders) or the mini-map (when I click ownership).

2. THe game calls me and my empire by the wrong name sometimes. The emperor name seems to be entirely messed up. No matter what I put into the custom name space, I'm called Alan Bradley. The empire name is ok, except for on the Choose Opponents screen, it seemed to call me Terran Alliance even though I was the Terran Federation.

3. Humans still don't start with the right techs. I started another new game and didn't have Hyperdrive (and hence no Colony Ship) until I finished researching it. This is not the only occurence.

4. Saving takes too long (admittedly, this could be because I'm playing on a laptop...)

5. Graph in the United Planets council is wrong (assuming it's supposed to show relative voting power -- it's just not working and you probably know that).

That's it for now. Great work so far. I love the space battles, even though I've only seen 1 on 1 fights!

The saves are powerfully long... wierd part is that the "quick-save" takes about twice as long to complete as the auto-saves do... why?

1.) I beleive this is a problem with old '.raceconfig' files staying in your directory.  Go to your 'galciv2/data' directory and delete all files of this type. Unfortunatly, this WILL delete any custom races you've made, but will force the game to read in the race data properly.

2.) Thats my fault...when I implemented the text parsing I used an incorrect variable in the code   It should be easy to fix, though 

3.) This, I beleive, is still being tweaked.

4.) We'll try to cut this time down once all the features are in. Till then we'll just all have to live in pain 

5.) This has been fixed...what everyone is currently seeing is a stretched image 

Yeah, I'm glad to spent the extra time to get those Fleet Battles into the game...it really showcases your custom made ships.  And fleet vs. fleet is where it's at...I've seen come crazy battles go down in late game!
