can't upgrade ship designs

is this just me?

Whenever I try to upgrade a ship I have made, the model of the ship doesn't show up in the 3d build area. The parts list is there, but I can't add or remove parts.

This is beacuse the final ship designs aren't in the game. Upgrading will be properly implemented in one of the next few betas.

Ok, cool, I just read someone say something about how they upgraded their ships, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me

Well, I managed to do an upgrade on a custom ship. But I needed to copy the ships files to folder where predesigned ships are stored.
