Activision Extends Another

Spider-Man Also Goes to 2017

Activision has announced that it has retained the rights to develop games for the Spider-Man movie franchise well into the future. Although the Tobey Maguire vehicles are set to end with 2007's Spider-Man 3, Activision has decided to secure the rights until 2017, covering any possible sequels to the Sam Raimi directed trilogy.

"This agreement allows Activision to continue bringing our own brand of interactive magic and vision to this unique, evergreen property and to build on the success we have already achieved with the Spider-Man movies."

This new announcement puts Spider-Man in line with its other Marvel properties in hopes of keeping the popular and lucrative super hero genre alive for the foreseeable future.
