Digital Jesters Gets Paid

US Firm Injects Publisher with $5 Million

Digital Jesters is back in the news this week with an announcement that the once down and out publisher has received a new lease on life. A US based firm by the name of Myriad Interactive has injected the publisher with $5 million and will be moving Digital Jesters into a new company, The DJ Group.

The new firms first title will be a PC and PS2 vehicle by the name of Crazy Frog Racer and is based on, get this, a ringtone. The new title will be published by The DJ Group on December 9th.

Gamesindustry also has word that the outstanding lawsuits and various claims against the publisher still stand and will be defended by Digital Jesters. Myriad will not play a part in the hearings because they didn't purchase the company and therefore did not incur any of its debt.

"We've big plans for the DJ group," according to Myriad Interactive boss Marco Landi, who was formerly president and COO of Apple Computer. "We've already set up our infrastructure, and it's our intention that this new group will quickly grow through expansion and acquisition into a real major player."
