suggestions

1) Instead of bases aiding planets in same sectors, let them have a sphere of influence. When a planet or trade ship is within its sphere, the base's bonus is applied. The sphere can be a colored circle that appears when the bases is highlighted. The more improvements to the base, the larger its sphere. Why should a base at the edge of a sector not have any influence on a planet or trade ship only 2 moves away, separated by a line on a map? A trade ship would stop at a nearby base for R/R and add credits to the base's economy.

2) Starbases should not be listed on ships list. They should have their own. The key on the base screen should lets you move between bases only.

3) When new resources appears and they are within sensor range of a planet, ship or sensor drone, their location should be broadcast on Galatic News. This would help those players who like huge/gigantic galaxies.

4) Suppress the listing of military projects that I have no interest in building. This could be done on the military govenor's screen by moving the project to a 'reject' box.

5) sort the ship list. It would be nice just to see my capital ships and transports without all my sensor drones.

6) Ability to upgrade a battleship to avatar. This could be done at a starbase.

3) Resources are created only at the beginning of the game. You have to find them with your ships.

4) We will have a filter for the project lists.

5) The ship list is by no means finished. I keep not being able to get it in because I have to work on stability issues and things like that.

Since star bases will eventually be movable like ships (with techs and upgrades we have not yet received with the game), why should they be excluded from the ship list?

And why would you upgrade a battleship to an avatar when you can just build an avatar?

Wyrenn,

I think I can answer that one. Currently disbanning a ship does no more than removing the ship from your list and eliminates the maintenance you pay on it. Upgrading a ship to an Avatar, if it cost fewer shields than building a new Avatar, would save time and resources. But, I think adding an upgrade feature at this point would be too costly in design/development costs and would lead to slipping the initial release. It would have to be something for a future release IF StarDock considered it.

Besides, sometimes I like to use by older/weaker ships for bait.
