Wargaming.net Brings Novel To Life

The "Inhabited Island" novel is now coming to a PC near you thanks to Akella and Wargaming.net. The two companies plan on taking the Strugatsky brothers' novel and turning it into a PC strategy game, the genre of choice for Wargaming.net, scheduled for the first quarter of 2007.

The title will place players directly into the novel "after Maxim destroyed the Center and the Land of Fathers army was defeated in the North." Due to the loss of their mind control transmissions most of the inhabitants have fallen into a coma like state, which allowed the Khontis to attack.

"Wargaming.net is known for its addictive strategy games in sci-fi setting", says Dmitry Arkhipov, VP of development at Akella. "We're confident, the game based on 'Inhabited Island' will immerse players into fabulous worlds of Strugatsky brothers for at least several weeks."
