Victory condition: Military defeat

Ummm I just got a military defeat victory...altho there are two races left, none as allied with me.

Why did I win?

Did you look at your diplomacy screen? Beta 2 had a bug where a race would no longer show up on the diplomacy screen when they had lost all but a few planets. I even had a game where two races never showed up at all because they only had one or two planets during the entire game.

Did the winning race own 80% of the sectors by any chance? It seems that if they get a Cultural Victory it actually says "Military Defeat" on the end of game summary when it should really say "Cultural Defeat".

Ah sure. I had all sectors :) But Ive had that for a number of turns, that's why I dindt payed any attention to it. But it sounds as that could be it then.

Same thing happened to me. I had killed off all the other races except for one and it was just me and him. Then the game quit saying "military defeat". I was like, "eh!?!"

I just got the same thing. Looked like I was about to acheive cultural
victory, and suddenly I had a military defeat.
