'Ollie' Sues Over 'Ollie King'

Trick Creator Sues SEGA and Activision

Alan Gelfand, the creator of the 'Ollie' skating trick, is suing SEGA and Activision for alleged trademark infringement on his maneuver. The suit did not specify any products but according to GamesIndustry, SEGA has just released a title called Ollie King to arcades and Activision has released numerous skating titles under the Tony Hawk brand, but the target is probably the less popular Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure for the skate park 'Olliewood.'

Gelfand is seeking $20 million in damages and seems to realize that he is fighting a David and Goliath-esque battle stating "I'm just a skateboarder. I'm not a huge, mega corporation... yet."
