Mouse Battery Docklet

I searched but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know of a docklet that will display the battery of a cordless mouse? That would come in VERY handy for me, it's freakin' annoying to have the warning pop up telling me I need to dock my mouse. Thanks.

It's a good request but I don't think that it's going to be easy.
Most of the meters and such for DX or OD are calls to Windows systems (WMI or some such thing). The battery meter isn't. If you have software installed from the vendor that measures battery life you may want to contact them and see if they will provide you with a SDK (Software development Kit) or the API (Application Program Interface) so another application (OD, DX) can call the meter.

Or . . . I could be completly wrong.

What is the make and model of the mouse?

I think you got it exactly right.

The mouse driver must provide some interface to the 'outside world', API, SDK or DLL as you said...

Hi "Styles",
I have a similar problem with my mouse, it's part of my Microsoft "Bluetooth elite desktop; Keyboard/Optical Mouse". I'd have never bought it except it was VERY mispriced at a Best Buy (only $79 for the set). I got to the register, when they scanned it's UPC, the price was over $200. Lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, they have a policy, if it priced wrong (at a lesser value), you get it at THAT price; NOT a bad deal for the Bluetooth desktop suite!
But, the batteries are a pain in the a**! It seems to give you a one 'warning' pop-up, whether your sitting there or not, then wallah!, NO working mouse or keyboard, whichever is out.

The only solution I found is; Keep a good supply of bateries on hand! I doubt I'd even want another program working in the background, just for the batteries. A little extra lee-way (sp?) on the time till you change the batteries would be nice, but have yet to see any other solution.

Good Luck!
