Need more tools to reduce micromanagement

I know there is some amount of distaste toward micromanagement going around here. While generally good as regards the minimisation of MM, I think there are a couple of areas GCII needs to address, perhaps.

Auditing. How do I efficiently audit my big chunky empire? For example my current game has reached the point where I have around 20 resource bases. I just can't keep track of what modules are on which base anymore! There is no system which will allow me to quickly review module loadouts. Currently I must individually access each detail screen, then I have to search the surrounding systems for planets capable of producing constructors, and finally, get those suitable planets to pump out a couple of constructors if necessary.

Now... What I would like is a starbase summary screen not unlike the colony summary screen in the civ management screen. This screen would highlight starbase location in a minimap, show which modules were installed (a non-detailed list), and provide other basic stats. Furthermore when a starbase was selected from the list, surrounding colonies capable of building ships are highlighted. Using the colony list the user can selectively order constructor ships. A rally point it automagically placed on the starbase.

Back to auditing. More information about planets would be nice too. More information = less micromanagement.

More information = less micromanagement.

I guess you are meaning: More information in a summary screen = less micromanagement

I really like the idea about a Starbase summary screen.

Expanding on the civ management screen too - A system where one can add an improvement to the queue of every planet on the list would be great, perhaps incorporating something to allow one to say "in all planet queues bring Enhanced Factory to the front of the queue".

Is there room on the Civ Manager Colonies screen to show planet population? That's something I'd like to see there, along with the existing Class/Social/Military/Research/Approval.

Ja - gooood. Food production too. Basically anything that's important to how a colony functions. Not bonuses though. I think they are a function of local (local to the planet) factors, eg, economy starbase.

Yes, it would be very helpful to have a screen in which the present status and available upgrades to each starbase could be seen all at once. As it is now, I often run a constructor over to the starbase to "see what I can get," which isn't the most efficient use of my resources.
