Windows 98/Me/2000/XP; Pentium 600 MHz Processor; 128 MB RAM; 600 MB Hard Disk Space; DirectX 7.0; Video card with 8 MB VRAM; Monitor capable of supporting 1024x768 resolution; 4 X CD-ROM drive; DirectX 7.0

You definitely get the download as soon as you purchase it.

It is 235 MB once it is extracted, but to download it's about 40-50 MB, and there's a multimedia pack for extra goodies. Definitely an overnight job if you don't have high speed internet access. But, the DGM does support download resume.

so 500Mhz 128megs and a TNT card would that be too much of a push?

Possibly...

If your card supports 1024x768 and you have enough memory (hard disk and RAM) and the required DX drivers, the game will run, but you will probably notice a drop in frames and longer end of turn calculations. I haven't played it on less than a 800 MHz machine for awhile, so I can't tell you how painful it will be. :) Some of the beta testers might have lower end systems, so they could probably give a better perspective.

It'd be playable on your machine, but not flawless. My 400mhz PII/ 196mgs ram / win98 / crappy video card machine at home gets an average of 20 fps. My bro played through a few games on the system, so it should still be enjoyable...you'll only really see the hit on any full screen cutscenes, but even that should get smoothed out by release.

It works with little problems on my P-200 MMX (8MB Premedia2-based video card, 48 MB system RAM at first, 90MB now), and many of those that do appear are created by the fact that I'm running it off of a USB 1.1 harddisc drive.

I remember playing the original OS/2 version on a machine that was below the requirements at best. Every little thing the code did showed up, such as the large number of times the code redrew the screen during the next turn sequence. Then, just by adding on board RAM to the machine sped up the game tremendously. If you have speed related problems when you try the game, an increase in RAM, IMO, would be the first thing to try.
