Not me. I tried a bunch of strategies, the aliens spread too quickly early in the game. Even if I stretch my population to 24 mil per planet (due to rapid colony ship production) I still get less planets than 1 dominating alien (there always seems to be 1 dominating the rest). And their population grows at least 10 times faster. So they simply outproduce me in ever way.

Did anyone manage to win the game when all AI are set to "genius"? on big maps?

Yes, what I do does drive them a little into the red, but turn by turn, unless they have enough incoming revenue, they go deeper and deeper. This seems to be particularly true of the minor races, since they rarely have more than one star system. I have not seen a case where any race has gone into what looks like an overflow into the red on build 3D yet, so hopefully that problem is fixed.
