If this situation does not apply to you https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=167&AID=95598 , please open WB5 and click System Information on the left side of the WindowBlinds Config window. Copy the information and paste it below. Then someone can help you further...

Maybe your graphics card doesn't support per pixel. Do what aimzzz said.

Try updating to the most recent version and see if the problem continues. You are using a close but not most recent build.

updated, but still no help
wb works good! just when I shut down, then next time I start up It's messed up!

I have the same graphic card, lepew1, so yours should be OK. I also run Home, with all updates (Windows) installed. That narrows us down some more. What do you have running at Start-up?

Do you use Panda antivirus? There are some interferences with it...

AVG or Avast will do you better, not so big and free (no subscription needed). Microsoft's OneCareLive works well, too; alas some have this thing against the giant money maker Gates.

NO THANKS! Tried AVG got to many viruses!!! I will stay with Panda!
Have paid version, and have had since 2001. Thought maybe there was a way to allow, if Panda was fighting it. If that was the problem.
I ran the older version wb4.6 with no problems, updated to wb5, problems started. So then I purchased wb5, thought it would help, then I updated, but still no help.

You'd have to find out which file Panda doesn't like, first.

I think there was something in the forum about it, but I can't find it. Would suggest making a new post in the StarDock Support section. Add your System Info (as above) and include in the title & in the description something about 'problem using WB5 with Panda'. With that specific information you should get a fast response there (barring interference from the holidays-- post asap)

I never heard anyone complain about AVG before. I have had it for years and have been virus free everyone of them, and on 3 different computers. Weird.

"Just sharing a thought"
I didn't have good luck with AVG, and I hate to add, our Church computer was also using AVG and got a BAD virus! Killed the HD and half the mobo... But if it works for you "It's ALL good!"

P.S. Am "VERY" thankful for all the help!!!

I just upgraded to Panda Platinum 2006 today. Latest ver. of WB was already installed. Same problems everyone else is having now. I wasn't able to get it to work until I uninstalled v.5 and restored v.4.68.xx, and of course everything worked fine then. I am here right now because I've installed/uninstalled at least five times and decided to look here for some help. Found the logoff/login suggestion here and that worked for me as well. Pain in the butt, but it worked.

Only reason I'm posting here now is because I've read through this thread, the thread y'all linked to above, and a whole bunch of similar threads in the WC Forums, and still no definitive answer to this specific problem can be found. Considering that this thread was opened on 12/28/05, almost two weeks ago, it appears this "Help Forum" or "Support," whatever, doesn't work any better than WB 5 does if you use Panda. This is really frustrating and a lot to go through for nothing more than eye-candy. Great eye-candy, yes, but that's all WB really does.

My subscription to OD (active for aprox. 3 years without interruption) comes due in March. If I'm still having to longoff/login to get it to work, I will not be renewing this year or anytime in the future. I will put this thread on my Watch List and see if Stardock comes up with a solution before March. That's a whole lot longer than it should take though.

I know this isnt a ideal solution, but i found if i put a password on my windows user account i dont have this problem.
I use panda too and was having the exact same issue, but i noticed when i had a second account on my machine and actually had to login to mine, i didnt have the problem.

As i say, not a ideal solution and maybe a little annoying but its less annoying than reloading WindowBlinds everytime i reboot my pc.

This thread is not in Stardock Support, it is in the category "General-New Users". Maybe, try submitting in Stardock forum. Or even email Stardock. Not many peruse the General forum for support. I hope you have luck.
