Over the last week or so, I have written 3 articles on homosexuality. I have been called a bigot, a hatemonger and other names. I am writing this article to show that God does not approve of homosexuality. I am only showing you what God's Word says. Can anyone argue with God?

GENESIS 1 & 2... We see from the beginning that the complimentary of the sexes reflects God's inner unity and his creative power and Fatherhood. God created man and woman to become one flesh which is consummated in the act of marital love.

GENESIS 19:24-28... The Lord rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah as punishment for the sin of homosexuality.

LEVITICUS 18:22, 29... God commands a man never to lie with a male as with a female, or he will be cut off.

LEVITICUS 20:13... God says that if a man lies with another man, he shall be put to death. Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.

DEUTERONOMY 22:5... Cross-dressing is also considered an abomination before God.

MATTHEW 19:6... After referring to God's divine plan for man and woman, Jesus says a husband and wife become one flesh, which ultimately reflects God's union with humanity through the Church. Homosexual unions pervert this divine truth.

ROMANS 1:26... Also, when a woman lies with another woman, this is unnatural and a perversion. God wants his children to be pure and holy as He is holy.

ROMANS 1:27... Homosexuality is called shameless, unnatural and a perversity. It is contrary to the natural law.

1ST CORINTHIANS 6:9... Homosexuality is not part of God's plan for his kingdom. Homosexuals must seek forgiveness and become chaste.

1ST TIMOTHY 1:10... Sodomites are called ungodly and sinners, unholy and profane, lawless and disobedient. God calls them to chastity. It is important to note that homosexual attractions and inclinations are not by themselves sinful. It is the acting out on homosexual attraction that is sinful. Those with homosexual desires can still live a life worthy of Christ by remaining chaste and pure as they abstain from acting out on their desires.

GENESIS 20:11-12...Abraham's marriage is incestuous.

EXODUS 21...God's guidelines for the proper operation of a slave trade.

DEUTERONOMY 20...God's guidelines for the proper way to conduct genocide.

I replied to your article from yesterday, please read that (Sunday morning, annonymous).

Quoting the bible is not effective at convincing people that being gay is bad if they don't believe in your religion. If you are at church talking to a gay couple, it may be effective, but for many of us, we don't follow the bible. You need to make an argument based on something else.

Marvin, do not listen to these vile perverts, they are nothing but heretics. I myself am a committed English Protestant and use my immense wealth to spread the word of the Bible to people who are not directing their lives in the correct, English path. You and I would get along, why not read my blog? I have denounced homosexuality on many occassions using my popular blog.

(This encludes you Marvin you are a sinner too because your heart is black and full of hate thats why you call homosexuals faggots and such because of that hatred in your heart. With all that hatred I'm sure there is other sin in your life as well but it only takes one to send you to hell.)

As always with religious arguments, the Bible's meaning is subject to interpretation...

There are many that would argue that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is more of a condemnation of raping and pillaging an entire village than it is about homosexuality...one reason is the ambiguity around the words that are being translated from ancient Greek to mean homosexual. Also, where the bible talks about men and women coming together (for example Matthew 19:6) you are simply implying that this means that men and men, or women and women can not....just because I like to wear blue and green together, doesn't mean that it is a violation to wear blue and blue, or green and green...(I realize that is a very simplistic example, but I am just trying to show how the reasoning doesn't jive by using a trivial and non-controversial example). More over, even if I was to contend that you are right in all of these examples, I would find it hard to believe that you take everything that the bible says literally. I am sure you have received this email with the "response to Dr. Laura," but I am pasting it in as a reminder of some of the Bible passages that we do not follow literally...(or I assume you do not, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev.1:9).The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7.In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness (Lev.15:19-24).The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev.25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev.11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev.11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread cotton/polyester blend. He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them (Lev.24:10-16)? Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev.20:14)

Marvin Cooley, you're one sick puppy, aren't you? Why "Christians" keep referring to some insignificant text in the bible and ignore the most important texts, like "thou should not kill", or "love they neighbor" is beyond me! Those gay bashers tend to also support capital punishment, going to war and all the other awful things the neo-cons can dream up to do in their own selfish interests.
