3d: alliance victory altho no alliancies made

I just got an alliance victory.
I got all major races and all minor except one to defect their systems to me, due to cultural advantage. To make sure I wouldnt make an alliance victory with the only race left - a minor, I traded war against the minor with the last living major just before they defected. That is - I traded war against the minor on both sides.
Shouldnt make an alliance win then, should it?
