Resources-Life force??

In the manual it says that there is this life-force resource which should raise the PQ.Is this true or is it dismissed in the name of game-balance?I haven't seen one.
Thx..

It's out of the game because it was thought to be too unbalancing.

Some modders tried to revive it but apparently it's not possible. Too bad.

I always wondered about that. The last time I looked at the manual online it was still in there.

I'd settle for a PQ +1% anomoly that only appears once in a while (say, 1 per size of the galaxy in levels) ;)

There's a mod in the library that does that. "Abandoned Terraformer" by Parable.

The online updated manual still has the progressive party and the life-force resource and possibly other minor errors.

Could be nice to have it implemented for games with higher level of difficulties, like masso.

Wasn't there a rumor of a life-force resource that improves diplomatic ability? Wasn't that proposed for the 2nd (non-free) expansion?

The problem with a +PQ resource is that even +10% would be a huge advantage for whoever got it. On the other hand, every AI should be going all-out to control it, so it could be interesting...

Vincible, it's PQ+2% in the library, isn't it? But it would then be a common anomoly, and I bet that having PQ+50% in a huge galaxy might cause you to go to zero in scoring due to "cheating". Just a guess, but I've gotten +80% to soldiering easy from just anomolies... that's why I was suggesting it be very rare... in a huge or gigantic or extreme sizes, you might be able to harvest enough to gain a +5 or +8%... which would be useful, but not let you turn PQ10 worlds into "worthwhile" ones, yes?

Have you tried that mod in the Library? If so, what have your experiences with it been?

Never tried it since I thought it would be too unbalancing, and because I've barely been able to play for the last month or so. The description says its "uncommon" though, which could mean many things.

You could probably download it and mess with the text file to adjust the frequency and to change the bonus to 1%. I'm sure some of the people on the mods forum could tell you how to do it if it isn't obvious. I've never looked at an anomaly mod before so I can't give you any advice.

The PQ mod works properly and doesnt cause anomalous scores.I use it in all my games. An example of an unbalanced mod would be something that the ais don't know how to use or the ai setting is set really low in the mod so human player will always get it first.
