WORLD LEADERS CALL FOR DISARMAMENT

World leaders are calling for a revamp of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Treaties for disarmament have always only benefited those who did not disarm and hurt those who trusted in such flimsy promises. History has shown that disarmament treaties are very unreliable and frail. Over a three-century period in U.S. and European affairs, such treaties have not worked and are therefore usually worthless--and worse than worthless when nations rely on them. Evil nations will observe the treaties until they think they have enough strength to violate them without serious consequences.

After World War I, the World imposed a disarmament treaty on Germany. The inspection and policing system was unmatched by any before it. But before long, everyone let their guard down. England and France demilitarized and composed another treaty to do away with the inspection process. Germany began to secretly rearm.

Disarmament treaties are always ignored by the bad guys and trusted-in by the good guys. What you end up with is a situation such as where England and France, naively believing Germany was unarmed, let their armor rust and were ill-prepared for Germany's surprising military advances in the late 1930s. Neither Hitler's Germany or Mussolini's Italy had the slightest problem about breaking treaties. The Soviets believed that treaties are made to be broken.

Evil nations even find ways around them. Germany accepted the official numbers it was allowed to have as a standing army--but it trained all those men to be officers. When the right time came, Germany was able to draft anyone fit for military service under a strong core of military leadership already in place. Thus, they were able to raise up a large army quickly.

A treaty can attempt to limit nuclear weapons, but what's to stop an evil nation from exploring other means of destruction? Technology that was once classified is now more open, and more countries can get access to it. A mere piece of paper cannot stop weapons of mass destruction from getting into the hands of lunatics.

Whatever men's efforts are at stemming the spread of horrible weapons, treaties they sign will never work. Whether the return of God Almighty to earth is fantasy or reality, it appears it will take something like that to finally stop the horrors of war. Man has tried a hundred times and failed constantly. Hopefully one day, mankind will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks and nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. I truly look forward to that day.

Germany's re-armment was not in any way secret. France and England were not duped into believing that Germany was not a military threat for WW2. Where did you get this impression from?

Where disarmament treaties fall down is when they don't apply to all. You can't have 1 country telling another to disarm if it doesn't have to itself.
