Graphic problem

I had this problem in 3A and it just happened again in 3B. It may be my computer, but its still a problem. After playing a while (I'd say about an hour, but I can't be absolutely certain) all the buttons and other text in the main galaxy window turn red. In 3A, when I quit and restart the game and then load the save game, it keeps the red. Its very annoying and kinda harsh on the eyes. I can't be certain if it happens in 3B, but I'd guess it will, and I'm going to go check now.

This is because you became an evil race. Its part of the UI. :)

If you do good, it turns all blueish, while if you go evil (sweeeeeeeeet) you get the red interface... no problem, you're just EVIIIIL!

Should this be an option? I know players have commented that the Neutral interface is easiest to use...perhaps at the start of the game (as well as on the options screen) have a "Change Interface with Morality" toggle.

You'll also notice the robot's change with morality as well. When you geta chance, check out the good robot. There's a subliminal heart outlined on the robots' chest plate...it makes me chuckle :)

BoogieBac,

When we first saw and reported this someone said it was temporary as a test of the evil/good support and was due to change. Is it now the way it is planned for final release?

IIRC, it was noted in the Beta 3A post that it was in it's planned final state.

I would kinda like the option to turn it off. If I were playing for a quite a while, I think the red would really iritate my eyes. Its kinda glaring...

Really? I like the red a lot better... and now that I have the Imperial March as my "evil" music I always rush to become evil as soon as possible... it's fun taking on the entire galaxy... damn bunch of do-gooders.

The idea of having a visual representation on your screen of you being evil/good is definitely a nice touch, but I find the red harsh. My monitor's also about 6 years old too, so that may have something to do with it :D

I've been thinking that it would be nice if there were things you could to make yourself actively more evil or actively more good. I know your morality affects what can be researched, but perhaps there can be marked research paths that affect your morality (leaving aside the whole "science is neither good or evil" argument).

That is, instead of just being reactively good or evil, I'd like to be pro-actively good or evil. In particular, it seems like there are actions that make you more evil, but no actions that make you more good, or am I mistaken?

Outside of events, not that I know of, but I haven't tried much that would be 'good' in the first place.

Well, you can start a war, but what if you could step in and force a peace (and risk getting all shot up by both sides if your attempt fails, by the way), or negotiate peace between two parties (a common feature request) and increase your "goodness", too.

By the way, is there a way to see the actual morality number now that the stats page just shows "Neutral", etc.?
