Nothing Lasts Forever...

Hmm, looks like my poet's heart is beating again...well, I'll leave you to it....enjoy.

Nothing lasts forever,
In this day and age,
Or any other, for that matter.

Trees grow,
Wither and die.
Seasons change,
Give life and take it.

We wish so hard,
And want to believe,
That what we have,
We can hold onto,
Forever.

Sadly,
That is not the case.
People grow and change,
Are born and die.

We are but visitors,
On this Earth,
During these times,
In this plane of existence.

Try as we might,
We change not,
This process.

Am I the only one who sees?
That we must move on.
Especially while one is so young,
And naive to the ways of the world.

Alas,
Pain strikes and we grow harder,
The tender layer of youth is calloused,
Into the somber wisdom of the experienced.

there are ends to everything... but to every shut door there is one opened. keep the end close in your heart and look for what it might bring. maybe the end isn't really the end, you just didn't look hard enough...
don't worry, be happy.

True enough, anonymous one. I know that all too well...it takes a lot to get me down. I'm quite the easygoing one...moreso than the average person.

Lots of things are closing in my life now....and things will be opening soon.
