Purple stars?

Do they have any special meaning or properties or are they just for visual interest?

On this same topic, purple stars are the only stars I find that have habitable planets in them other than good ole yellow... is this on purpose? The aliens always seem to start with a good planet in a red or white star, but I have never found one...

I'm not sure if they have any other meaning, but I found the purple stars to have much higher than normal influence.

I have found a couple settleable planets in red and white stars. They were only marginally settle able class 13 and 14 s though which is only really useful if you have good planet improving bonuses.

Yes, purple means that the star has a lot of influence. Once, and only once, did I ever find a purple star with a class 26 planet in it...it was a beautiful thing.... :)
