Question about Sensor Range Increase bugs

Some people have been reporting problems with sensor range after building Eyes of the Universe. I can't find the posts at the moment, hence this post. At various times when this bug has been reported, I've tried to reproduce it and found nothing wrong. What, specifically, is happening? Are your ships failing to clear the FOW (either explored or unexplored)? Are ships or stars that were previously visible suddenly hidden by the explored-but-not-visible FOW?

What has happened to me is:

A ship will move, usually on autopilot, from an area that has no FOW into an area that does have FOW and the ship will literally vanish beneath the FOW. If the ship ends its movement under the FOW it stays invisible. A Ctrl-R or a reload will "fix" the problem.

This doesn't happen all the time but it happens often enough to be noticeable.

I am seeing the same thing, but with ships not on autopilot as well. I saw it during the next few turns after completing EofU, but after a few Ctrl-r's and reloads it seems to have quit happening.

On my next game I will save it just before completing EofU and save the game until I know if the problem reproduces.

it happens when ship's sensor range increases.
I am not sure what exactly causes the sensor range increase, but it keeps increasing out of control. Right now my survey ship has sensor range of 40

Hmm...apparently the research resource also increases your sensor range.

The problem only appears here when large increases occur, such as the +10 from the EotU.

When it does happen, the 'explored' FoW updates properly, but the 'sensor range' FoW does not for ships already in flight. A newly launched ship does update both properly, and refreshing the FoW fixes the problem in every observable case.
