Problem with Widgets o_o

Crashing when I try to use em.

Okay, I am using DesktopX 3 Pro....and every time I download a widget from this site and try to use them, it just says it has encountered an error. All the ones that came with it work fine. What Am I doing wrong to make them not work -_-

Another problem, all the Login Skins I download here don't work in Login Studio either.

Am I just putting things in the wrong place? or what? Nothing comes with readme files anymore -_- Please help

no specifics? how old are the one's you're downloading?

did you register your products? do you have the latest versions?

what is the file extension on the logons you downloaded? how are you downloading? how are you trying to install?

Try in change the extention from the file ... for example if your widget is .zip just change to .exe

my widgets ARE exes. and it doesn't matter what one i download from this site, none of them work. so am i to assume none of them are compatible with DX 3.0 Pro? -_- to install, i am extracting the EXEs from their zip files in to the widget folder, and doing any extra instructions they came with (like putting DLLs in the right DLL folder). then i do the load widgets thing and choose the widget i want and BAM:

"dxwidget.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

i finally got a login screen to work. but not all >.< just one of them but at least it's a nice one the extentions are .logonxp...but some of them come in zip files with a bunch of images and crap in em. o_o are those the ones i should just rename to .logonxp? >.< no one puts instructions in their files

Can you list some of the widgets that are failing? I'd be happy to test from here. ANd can you verify the DX build you are using? I'm on 3.19[b].002

thanks for calling me a criminal. that's pretty dman rude if you ask me.

ANd can you verify the DX build you are using?

not sure how to tell. just know it's 3.0 o_o had it for a while, just never bothered to use it. but i might stop anyway because most the good skins are for 1280x1024 my monitor doesn't allow above 1024x768 makes me sad.

also, thanks. i got logon skins working that were zip files. i just had to rename them like said.

Did you download via Stardock Central or via a link in email or through some other means? Version should be there. Or, right click on the systray icon and select "Switch to DesktopX builder". In the big window that loads click the "About" link. Tell us what version is there.

i've had it for a little while. got it from my dad.

3.19[b].002...is the b beta? if not, maybe i'll have to upgrade sometime

3.19[b].002 is beta. But it has been very stable for me.

So upgrade. And try the same objects. And post a list of the ones that fail.
